When you just have to get the last bite in during the playfight.
The masked lapwing is notorious for their bold nesting efforts, often building nests in inconvenient locations populated by humans. They have been observed using distraction tactics when their nest is threatened, pretending to be injured to lure predators away from their nest.

The toxicity of wild poison dart frogs is directly linked to their diet. The don`t create their own toxins, instead getting them from anthropods that they consume on the forest floor. When these frogs receive controlled non-toxic diets, they lose their toxicity.
The male Raggiana bird-of-paradise is recognized for their impressive plumage and coloration. Their cascading red plumes are known as "streamers" and are most prominent during displays of courtship.

Fresno Chaffee Zoo is a proud partner of AZA`s Red Wolf SAFE program. Together, we work to restore the dwindling population of red wolves with a strategic breed and release program to help boost their presence in their native habitat.
