Spring Has Sprung!
Spring has sprung, and the zoo is buzzing with new animals! Join us as we celebrate the season of sunshine, sprouts, and of course adorable baby animals! Campers will discover how animal parents care for their young and how baby animals grow up in the wild. We will explore the zoo to see our youngest animals in the zoo everyday.

Single Day Camp
The Education team is offering one-day camp programming! Single Day Camp now enables your camper to enjoy all the fun of Zoo Camp, packed into one unforgettable day. Single Day Camp is designed around local school holidays to ensure that your camper has access to memorable learning experiences outside of the classroom.

SUMMER Camp ThemeS
Dino-Mite (Weeks 1, 4, & 7)
Dinosaurs may be extinct, but their story lives on! Campers will learn how dinosaurs lived, what they ate, and how they survived then compare those traits to animals that live in zoos and in habitats today. Campers will investigate fossils, adaptations, and evidence that links dinosaurs to modern animals through hands-on activities, games, and zoo exploration.
Colorful creatures (weeks 2 & 6)
From shimmering scales to striking feathers, campers will explore how animals use color to hide, hunt, and communicate. Campers will create colorful animal-inspired art, play games that show why being colorful can be a superpower in the animal kingdom.
Wild About Wildlife (weeks 3, 5, & 8)
Campers will learn how to become global wildlife guardians as they explore animals, habitats and conservation efforts at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Everyday includes hands-on activities that explore climate change and human impact on our planet. Campers will leave ready to take action to make the world a better place.

Jr. Zoologist Program
Jr. Zoologist Program Themes:
Mighty Mimics (week 1)
Dive into the fascinating world of animal trickery, where survival depends on looking like someone—or something—else. Teens will explore different types of mimicry, from harmless hover flies that resemble stinging bees to predators that use deception to catch prey, and discover how adaptation turns imitation into a powerful survival strategy.
Species Spotlight (week 2)
Explore the animals that play major roles in their ecosystems, from powerful umbrella species that protect entire habitats to keystone species that keep food webs in balance. Teens will discover how indicator, sentinel, and flagship species help scientists understand environmental health.
Desert Days (week 3)
Investigate the clever ways animals avoid becoming lunch, from tough shells and venom to camouflage, warning colors, and dramatic scare tactics. Teens will investigate physical, chemical, andbehavioral defenses.

Art Academy
Embark on a wild artistic adventure at our Zoo Art Academy, where young creators will unleash their imagination and creativity while drawing inspiration from the captivating animals that call our zoo home!
Throughout the camp, campers will explore various art mediums, including drawing, in pencil and ink, oil pastels, watercolor, and more, to bring their favorite zoo animals to life on canvas, parchment, and clay.
